Founded in 1887 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, our divisions, Bulk Transfer and Renneburg, lead the industry in designing and constructing world-class bulk transfer and thermal processing equipment for customers in a wide range of industries, including chemical, steel, biomass, energy, ports, and mining & minerals. Our Aftermarket Division supports these markets with replacement parts, upgrades, retrofits and life extensions.
In addition to our engineered products, some of which include our Rotary Dumper, C-Shaped Rotary (CR) Dumpers, Barge Unloaders, Train Positioners, Train Indexers, Hammermill, Processors and the CUB, Heyl & Patterson also offers consulting and field service support, as well as a pilot plant for the testing and development of ongoing innovations our customers require and expect. History
A History of Trust and Service
For over 125 years, Heyl & Patterson has been providing high quality, custom-engineered solutions, to industries worldwide, that are second to none. From our early days, when coal and steel dominated the market to today's technologically sophisticated bulk transfer and thermal processing equipment, Heyl & Patterson has achieved significant milestones along the way.
Founded in 1887 by Edmund W. Heyl and William J. Patterson, Heyl & Patterson quickly set the industry standard for engineering and manufacturing world-class, heavy bulk materials handling equipment.
In the early 20th century Heyl & Patterson grew regionally as their customer base grew. In the 1930's, 40's and 50's, the company expanded its regional and Canadian customer base to encompass all of North and South America, Asia and Australia, serving such industries as chemical, food, steel, pharmaceutical, power, port, mining and minerals.
Offering consulting and field service, at both its Bulk Transfer and Renneburg Divisions, Heyl & Patterson fabricates, installs and services quality custom engineered products, including Barge & Railcar Dumper Unloaders, Dryers, Coolers and Calciners tailored to the environmentally sensitive and production minded needs of the industries they serve.
Today, Heyl & Patterson continues to evolve with the industries it serves — combining cutting-edge technology innovation with a wealth of experience their customers have come to rely upon and trust to keep their business moving.
